The short answer

What is Tellcase?

Tellcase is software for a touchscreen hall of fame at a school or university. Its Honor Wall template shows every honoree as a photo tile. Visitors search by name on an on-screen keyboard, filter by sport or any category you choose, pick a decade, and tap a person to see their bio, highlights, and video. Staff add honorees from any web browser or import a whole class from a spreadsheet. It runs on a Mac mini, a Windows PC, or a BrightSign HD1025 or HD1026 player with a USB touchscreen, with or without the school network. Plans start at $49 a month with a 14-day free trial, or Tellcase Lifetime is $7,000 one time for up to 5 kiosks.

The plaque wall filled up years ago.

Plaques hold a name and a year, and every new class means another order, another wait, and less wall.

A touchscreen hall of fame holds the whole story for every honoree, and adding next year’s inductees takes minutes instead of a work order.

Behind the scenes

Run by the people who run the induction

Import a whole class

Bring in names, years, and sports from a spreadsheet, then add highlights and video to each person.

Crop by face

Click a face to set how each photo sits on its tile. Any photo shape works.

Several walls, one account

Run separate walls for athletics, alumni, and veterans, or one wall with categories.

School colors

Your logo, colors, and fonts on every screen.

Welcoming when idle

When nobody is using it, the welcome screen shows with the wall gently moving behind it.

Alumni can visit from home

Embed the same wall on your website so alumni can find themselves. Embeds do not count as kiosks.

How it works

From template to touchscreen in three steps

  1. Start an Honor Wall

It opens with example honorees, sports, and decades so you can see how it works.

  2. Add your honorees

Import a spreadsheet or add people one at a time, then add photos, bios, and video.

  3. Put it in the hallway

Pair a connected kiosk with a six-digit code, or copy an offline package over with a USB stick or SD card.

Questions

What buyers ask first

How much does a touchscreen hall of fame cost?

For the Tellcase software, Starter is $490 a year (or $49 a month) for one kiosk, Pro is $1,490 a year (or $149 a month) for up to five, and Tellcase Lifetime is $7,000 one time for up to five kiosks with 3 years of updates and support. The touchscreen, the computer or BrightSign player, and the mount are separate.

Who keeps the hall of fame up to date?

Whoever already runs the induction, such as the athletic director, the alumni office, or a booster volunteer. Adding an honoree works like filling in a form, and you can import a whole class from a spreadsheet.

What if we do not have a photo for every honoree?

Add them anyway. A person with no photo shows their initials on the wall until you add one. Any photo shape works, and the editor lets you click a face to set how the tile is cropped.

Can one school run more than one hall of fame?

Yes. Build a separate wall for athletics, distinguished alumni, or veterans, or keep them on one wall with categories. Each wall can play on its own kiosk, and every plan includes unlimited interactives.

Does the hall of fame kiosk need the school network?

No. A kiosk can run fully offline from a package copied over with a USB stick or onto a BrightSign player’s SD card. If it is on the network, new honorees show up on their own after you publish.

What hardware do we need for a hallway hall of fame?

A commercial touchscreen, landscape or portrait, plus a Mac mini (2018 or newer), a Windows PC that can run Windows 11, or a BrightSign HD1025 or HD1026 player with a USB touchscreen. Our kiosk setup guide covers specs and setup.

Can visitors search for a specific person?

Yes. An on-screen keyboard lets visitors type a name, and filters narrow the wall by sport or category and by decade.
